We are going to start with Nouns; the first question you are to ask is

What is a Noun?

A noun is a name of a person, a name of an animal, name of a place and name of things

In other words a noun is a name of a person, animals, places or things

Example of noun; Samuel, Lion, London and cloth

Lion; It is the name of an animal

London; it is a name of a place

Cloth; is the name of a thing

There are two types of noun; namely (1) Proper Nouns and (2) Common Nouns

Proper Nouns

Proper nouns are nouns that show the particular names of people, Important places, and things, the always begin with Capital letters. Example; Sir Kelvin, Doctor Victor, President Nelson, Harvest, Christmas, Easter.

Common Nouns

Common nouns are names of set of similar things example; cloths, table, etc.

Common nouns are divided into three groups

2.   Abstract nouns: these are what you cannot see or touch e.g. anger, air etc.

3.   Collective nouns: they refer to collection (set) of things grouped together having one name e.g. luggage, property

We also have countable and uncountable nouns

Countable Nouns: they are things we see touch and can count them e.g. house, vehicles, books etc

Uncountable nouns: they are the vice-vassal of countable nouns; they things we see touch but cannot count e.g. Rice, Gerri, and Sand etc.

Now let’s go to the second part of speech which is Pronouns

These are used instead of nouns to avoid clumsiness or repetition in a sentence, e.g. Wisdom went to school today and he did his class work. In this sentence he and his are the pronouns.

Types of Pronouns

1.   Interrogative pronouns: these are words we use in asking questions, at the end of the sentence we always have question mark (?) e.g. who, whom, what, which, when, etc.
what is the matter?  Who is that?

2.   Personal pronouns: the stand in the place of names. E.g. he, she, they, her, him, them, etc

3.   Descriptive pronouns: These are pronouns we used in describing what we say (i.e relating) e.g. each, Other, few, all, many, etc.
many are called but few are chosen.

4.   Relative pronouns: are used to introduce relationship between clause and noun or pronoun. Example, what, who, whom, that, which etc.

5.   Possessive Pronouns: These pronouns demonstrate the noun they stand for example this, those, these, that.

6.   Reflective pronouns: These pronouns end in self or selves and stand for this same thing or person as the object or subject e.g. myself, himself, themselves etc
