I Didn’t Come From A Privileged Background – Obaapa Christy Recounts As She Launches 20yrs In Ministry
Obaapa Christy, a classic
in Ghanaian gospel music and a powerhouse of the genre, officially began his 20
years in ministry celebration today, July 21, 2022, at Tang Palace in Accra,
with the media present.
The Glory hitmaker made it
clear that she has reached this point thanks to God's grace, which is shown in
the numerous songs from the twelve (12) strong albums since 2022 when she
began her career as a gospel singer while outlining the various activities
planned for the celebration.
Obaapa Christy said during her speech that she didn't come from a wealthy family.

All credit to God, Obaapa
said, "There was lack, struggle, and poverty from my past, but to see God
bring me up this way by His grace for 20 years and counting.
Influential media figures
like Nana Ama McBrown, Captain Smart, and Nana Romeo, together with gospel
music colleagues like Broda Sammy, Piesie Esther, Joyce Blessing, Abena Serwaa
Ophelia, and Rose Adjei, graced the press launch.

Obaapa Christy, who came
from humble roots, had no idea that the power of her gift would last for 20
years and change lives.
Obaapa formally began
recording in 2002 using the knowledge gained from performing in live bands,
churches, and other social settings. In order to produce hit after hit,
